“What a glorious day!” thought Christina, hanging the laundry, inhaling its fresh scent as she lifted each garment out of the basket and placed it on the line. The sky was cloudless, the sun was shining, and every single blade of grass glowed green in the early morning light. Suddenly, without warning, a bolt of lightening, pure energy, came out of the blue and struck the clothesline post. Christina was thrown backwards with the force of it, her hair sticking up in all directions from the residual static electricity, and she saw her recent handiwork reduced to cinders and a sizzle and tasted the sour bile of disappointment as she thought, “Oh no, not again!”
